Come and learn to sew with us! Two person or individual classes are available for the beginner or intermediate sewing level.  Age 8 and up recommended. Sewing machines provided or bring your own. 

Classes will be seasonal, current classes will be offered November 2021, December 2021, January 2022 & February 2022.

Intro to Sewing

One 1  1/2 hour session

1-2 person class size

 

For the person who knows nothing about sewing.   Perfect for a parent and child to learn to sew together.  You will learn all the basics including:

 

How to use a sewing machine - Hand sewing basics - Buttons - Patches - 

Simple hem techniques - Fabric types

 

Cost:

2 person class - $65 per person

1 person class - $130 

Beginner Lessons

One 2 hour session

1-2 person class size

 

This class is for the person who knows a little about sewing but wants to improve their skills and complete a guided project.  Students will need to bring fabric to class, fabric requirements are listed with each project.  Only one project will be offered per class, both students will need to choose the same project, choose your class project from a list below:

 

Boho Bag

Please bring the following amounts of fabric to class:

20 x 24 inches of cotton for outer bag*

20 x 24 inches of cotton for bag liner*

*cotton fabric recommended (please wash and dry new fabrics)

Japanese Apron

Please bring the following amounts of fabric to class:

2 yards of fabric*

*recommended fabric types: denim, canvas, duck cloth, linen 

(please wash and dry new fabrics)

Magic Pillowcase

Please bring the following amounts of fabric to class:

3/4 yard for body of pillowcase*

1/3 yard for contrast*

1/8 yard for trim*

*cotton fabric is recommend or bring and old sheet that you can up-cycle

Intermediate Lessons

Two 2 hour classes

1-2 person class size

 

In this class you will improve your sewing skills by installing a zipper and creating a finished project.  Students will need to bring fabric to class, fabric requirements are listed with each project.  Only one project will be offered per class, both students will need to choose the same project, choose your class project from a list below:

 

Hoodie with zip front and pockets

Please bring the following amounts of fabric to class:

 

Sizes small and medium need:

2 1/4 yards 45” (1 3/4 yards 60”) fabric for hoodie*

3/4 yard of contrast fabric**

22” separating zipper, metal or plastic

 

Sizes large, XL and XXL need:

2 3/4 yards 45” (2 yards 60”) fabric for hoodie*

3/4 yard of contrast fabric**

24” separating zipper, metal or plastic

 

*recommended fabric types for hoodie: stretch knit, jersey knit, sweatshirt fabric, sweater knit.  (please wash and dry new fabrics)

**recommended fabric for contrast: 1 1/4” ribbon, any stretch or woven fabric 

(please wash and dry new fabrics)

 

Messenger bag

Please bring the following amounts of fabric to class:

1 yard for outer bag and strap*

3/4 yard for lining**

*recommended fabric types for outer bag: canvas, duck cloth, denim

Pattern Reading

One 1 hour class and one 2 hour class

1-2 person class size

 

This class will prepare you to complete and troubleshoot a store bought sewing pattern.  Start a new project or bring a pattern you have started that has you stumped.  For students starting a new pattern, a list of stores and websites are listed below where you can purchase one before class starts.
